Punjab Farmers protest against Punjab government opposing imposing of power bill and meters on tube wells in agricultural farms on Thursday morning.
The protests began at Bathinda, Punjab and various other places against Punjab Govt.
In a major decision by the Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday, meters will be installed at 6 places on the agricultural tube wells in Punjab.
The decision has been taken to save depletion of groundwater and encourage power save, farmers are set to get a cashback on the power save by them while carrying out agricultural operations by the Punjab government.
For each unit of power save, a direct benefit transfer of the cost of power saved will be made into their bank accounts.
The farmers are protesting against the decision of the Captain government.
