Gold prices in India rising amid Russia-Ukraine War

Gold and Silver Price Hike: As the Russia-Ukraine war entered its 12th day, the gold prices in India increased to Rs 52,800 per kg for 24-carat gold. Likewise, the silver prices in India also witnessed a change. The latest hike in the price of gold and silver metal is attributed to the escalating war between Russia and Ukraine. Sri Kartarpur Sahib is a holy shrine of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Sikh faith founder. Now, the pilgrims will get to eat langar made by the food grains grown in Guru Nanak Dev Ji's fields.   The decision has been taken by the Government of Pakistan and the country's Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.   Guru Nanak Dev Ji had spent over 18 years at Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, cultivating there. The holy shrine is built over 100 acres of land in the memory of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The 60 acres of land is Baba Nanak's farm.   Pakistan Government and the country's SGPC have decided to produce food grains in it. Reportedly, the field has orchards of wheat, maize, sunflower, and palms among the others.   Inderjit Singh, a member of Pakistan's SGPC said following the teaching of Guru Ji, the Pakistan Government has decided that it would produce food grains in Baba Nanak's fields. It will be distributed among the Sangat. Gold prices in India for 22-carat gold is Rs 48,400 while for 24-carat gold per 10 grams, it costs Rs 52,800. Although the rates remained similar to those on Sunday the current price is just Rs 2,500 away from an all-time high. The gold rate in Kerala was Rs 48,400, which is the same as in Delhi. The crisis in Ukraine has entered its 12th day on March 7. However, there are no signs of abating. Russian President Vladimir Putin is looking to press ahead with the invasion unless Kyiv surrenders. It is adding a further boost to the already high inflation.

Silver prices in India

Meanwhile, the Silver futures on MCX on Monday jumped by 1.5 percent to Rs 70,173 per kg while the Spot silver gained 1.7 percent to $26.09 per ounce.
