India allows domestic air travel without capacity restrictions
Air travel restrictions in India: In view of declining coronavirus cases in India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday permitted to restore the scheduled domestic air operations from October 18, without any capacity restriction.
In an order issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the government stated that "After review of the current status of Scheduled Domestic Operations viz-a-viz passenger demand for air travel in terms of the purpose specified in the Initial Order No. 01/2020 dated 21.05.2020, the condition laid down in para 2 of the order dated 21.05.2020 as last amended vide Order No. 25/2021 dated 18.09.2021, it has been decided to restore the scheduled domestic air operations with effect from 18.10.2021 without any capacity restriction."

"The airlines/airport operators shall, however, ensure that the guidelines to contain the spread of COVID are strictly adhered to and COVID appropriate behaviour is strictly enforced by them during the travel," it added.

The development comes at a time when India is witnessing a decline in coronavirus cases.
India on Tuesday reported 14,313 new Covid-19 cases and 181 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry Informed.
Of these, Kerala reported 6,996 Covid-19 cases and 84 deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry, the cumulative COVID cases in the country stand at 3,39,85,920, while 4,50,963 people have succumbed to the infection so far.
