India beats China, qualifies for London World Cup

Indian women's hockey team celebrated its qualification for the 2018 World Cup in London by defeating China 4-1 in the ongoing Asia Cup for women in Japan today. India led 2-0 at the breather.

It was India's second successive win from as many matches as the team started with a bang defeating Singapore 10-0 in the opener. For China it was their first defeat in two games.
Only yesterday, Indian camp got the news that it has been given a reserve slot for the 2018 Women's World Cup to be played in London. The slot was created as South Africa women's hockey team got a direct entry by winning the Africa Nations Cup Tournament in Egypt yesterday. Earlier, South Africa had earned the World Cup qualification from the World League semi-finals.
India beats China, qualifies for London World CupIndia as the reserve team from the World League semi-finals thus gets ticket to London. Incidentally winners of the ongoing Asia Cup for women will also qualify for the London World Cup. The continent champions become automatic qualifiers for the World Cup.
