India reports 7,554 new Covid-19 cases, 223 deaths in last 24 hours
New Delhi, March 2: India reported 7,554 new Covid-19 cases and 223 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the health bulletin. The active caseload stands at 85,680 and the active cases comprise 0.20 percent of total infections. There were 14,123 recoveries in the last 24 hours increasing total recoveries to 4,23,38,673. The daily positivity rate is 0.96 percent and the weekly positivity stands at 1.06 percent. In the last 24 hours, 7,84,059 tests were conducted, taking the total number of tests to over 76.91 crore in the country. The Central government has supplied 177.70 crore (1,77,70,82,070) vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far. More than 14.45 crore (14,08,83,686) balance and unutilized vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories to be administered. The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide Covid-19 vaccination started on 16th January 2021. The new phase of universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination commenced on June 21, 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.
