India successfully launches earth observation satellite EOS-01 and 9 other satellites
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its latest earth observation satellite EOS-01 and nine customer satellites on board its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C49 from the spaceport on Saturday.
The (PSLV-C49/EOS-01) launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 3.12 pm at the end of a 26-hour countdown.

As per the report, nine customer satellites are from Lithuania (1-R2, technology demonstrator), Luxembourg (4 maritime application satellites by Kleos Space), and the US (4-Lemur multi-mission remote sensing satellites).

This is the first mission in 2020 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
ISRO stated that EOS01 successfully separated from the 4th stage of PSLV-C49 and injected it into orbit. Likewise, all nine customer satellites successfully separated and injected into their intended orbit.
ISRO Chief K Sivan said that "This mission is very special and unusual for ISRO. The space activity cannot be done from 'work from home'."
"Each engineer has to be present at the lab. When talking about missions like these, each technician, employee has to work together," he added.
"During this pandemic, team ISRO raised to the occasion, worked as per COVID guidelines, without compromising on quality. It's really heartening to see all ISRO employees doing quality work at this time," K Sivan said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO and India's space industry for the successful launch of earth observation satellite EOS-01 Mission onboard PSLV-C49.
He said, "In the time of COVID-19, our scientists overcame many constraints to meet the deadline."
