Interpol Issues Red Corner Notice Against Nirav Modi's Sister Over Charges Of Money Laundering
Interpol has issued a red corner notice (RCN) against billionaire Nirav Modi's Sister, Purvi Deepak Modi, in connection in connection with the alleged over Punjab National Bank.
In August, a special Fugitive Economic Offenders Act court in Mumbai had issued public summons to Modi's sister and brother Neeshal, asking them to appear before it on 25 September. It said if they fail to appear, their assets will be confiscated under the newly enacted Act aimed at curbing big-ticket economic crimes.
Nirav Modi's sister and other family members were the recipients of the chunk of the proceeds of the PNB scam, according to the Enforcement Directorate.
The notice, which acts as an international arrest warrant, mentions that Purvi Deepak Modi (44) is required on charges of "money laundering".

Earlier, The RCN was issued against Mihir Rashmi Bhansali, CEO of Nirav Modi's jewellery firm Firestar International, was requested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
In its RCN issued against a fugitive, the Interpol asks its 192 member countries to arrest or detain the person if spotted in their countries after which extradition or deportation proceedings can begin.
