Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan on Saturday announced retirement from all formats of cricket. India's 2007 T20 World Cup hero, Irfan Pathan said, "I am announcing my retirement from all forms of cricket. I have been fortunate to share the dressing room with great players Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. I am calling on my career." He added that "I would like to thank my family supporting me. I would like to thank my fans. They have always hoped for my comeback. Their support has kept me going." The left-handed fast bowler was one of the most lethal swing and seam bowler to emerge in India after Kapil Dev. He played an important role in the final of the T20 World Cup 2007 against Pakistan. He bagged three wickets and returned with figures of 3-16 in his four overs span.
