Punjab Latest News: In a major incident, a 21-year-old Jalandhar-based girl, who had gone to Canada on a study visa, was murdered in Surrey on November 21. The Canada police informed the family of the victim about her death. The victim has been identified as Prabhleen Kaur, a native of Chitti village near Lambra in Jalandhar. Prabhleen had gone to Canada for studies in 2016 and was supposed to return in January next year. The victim’s father, Gurdial Singh Matharu, who is a photojournalist based in Jalandhar, said that he received a call from the Canada police that her daughter had been murdered. As per reports, Prabhleen had gone to Canada on November 14, 2016. Earlier, Prabhleen was living at a rented accommodation, but she took a separate room when her mother came. Gurdial Singh said that the family was shocked by the news as she doesn't have any enmity with anyone and was coming back to India in a couple of months. Meanwhile, the Canada police informed her father that the investigation in the case would take at least a week, only after that the real cause of her murder would be clear. According to the information, Prabhleen is survived by her parents and a younger brother. -PTC News
