Jalandhar city declared 'No Drone Zone'

Jalandhar: In view of the emerging security threats due to recent trends of carrying out drones as Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by anti-national elements, the Jalandhar police has declared the city as 'no drone zone'. The order issued by the Jalandhar police stated that "it is imperative to initiate necessary security measures for ensuring to maintain the law and order in the area of Police Commissionerate Jalandhar City." Also Read: UP Phase 2 Elections 2022: Sugarcane farmers to decide fate of candidates in 55 seats Jalandhar city declared 'No Drone Zone' "I, Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, PPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Investigation) Jalandhar exercising the of power, conferred upon me by section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 do hereby order that jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate Jalandhar City is declared as "No Drone Zone" and flying of Drones & Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) shall be strictly prohibited with immediate effect," the letter reads. Jalandhar city declared 'No Drone Zone' "This order shall remain in force from 13.02.2022 to 12.03.2022 in view of the urgency, this order is being passed ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general," the order added. Teja further said that this order should be brought to the notice of the general public through press media. "This order should also be relayed on Doordarshan and Akashwani through Public Relation Officer and its copies should also be pasted on the conspicuous places in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar," it concluded.
