Jalandhar Congress office goes dark due to non-payment of electricity bill

Jalandhar, September 29: Due to non-payment of the electricity bill, PowerCom had to cut off the electricity supply of the Congress Bhawan, Jalandhar. According to the information, Jalandhar's Congress Bhawan has been a defaulter of Powercom for the last one year. Congress Bhavan's bill of 3 lakh 75 thousand rupees is still pending. The department had directed the operators of the Congress Bhawan to continue paying the bills, but after repeated appeals by the department officials no effort was made by the party to restore the connection. According to the information, about a week ago, the Powercom employees went to cut the connection, but then the Congress leaders asked the officials to grant them some more time to pay the bill. Meanwhile, Congress district president Balraj Thakur had also contacted some Congress leaders to submit the bill, but due to non-availability of funds, the bill could not be paid. Congress Bhavan's outstanding bills have been increasing for the past several years. A senior official of Powercom confirmed that action is being taken against the defaulters.
