Jalandhar (Rural) Police Exposed Inter-State Drug Smuggler Gang
The Jalandhar (rural) police on Sunday busted an inter-state drug peddling gang by arresting its three members, including one woman, and recovered 560 kg of poppy husk being smuggled in the state from Jammu and Kashmir.
2 of the accused have been identified as Sukhbir Kaur and Baljeet Singh.
SSP Navjot Singh Mahal told the media that SI Ramandeep Singh, SHO has tipped that Sukhbir Kaur alias Shinder was involved in Drug peddling from a long time.
Acting on the tip, police started checking at Kabilpur check post and found Sukhbir Kaur and Baljeet Singh travelling in Tata Indica (PB-08-AK-6170) carrying poppy husk packed in two jute bags.
From past 12 years, the accused used to smuggle drugs into the state, thereby minting huge amount of money from it.
