Chandigarh University clinches big spot among best Universities in Asia
PTC News Desk: Continuing its winning streak, Chandigarh University (CU) has secured the top spot among private universities in India in the QS Asia University rankings 2024, rising to 149th this year from 185th in the previous edition of the ranking (2023).
Notably, in the recently released QS Asia Universities Rankings 2024, India surpassed China to become the Global Leader. With 148 Indian universities ranking among the top Asian universities, India became the nation with the most universities ranking in the QS Asia Universities Ranking 2024, followed by China with 133. With 37 new entrants, this year's list of Asian Top Universities includes the most Indian universities ever. This year, China has only seven new entrants.
A total of 857 institutions from 25 Asian countries were ranked in this edition. This year's performance of Indian universities has been remarkable, with a 33% increase in the number of universities ranked over the previous year.
Seven Indian universities have been ranked among the top 100 in Asia.
CU is ranked among the top 1.1% of all universities in Asia. In the QS World Ranking, CU is also ahead of nine IITs and five NITs, and it has surpassed many international universities, including those from China, Japan, and South Korea, among others.
CU ranks among India's top 15 universities on six parameters that are academic reputation, employee reputation, international student ratio, international faculty ratio, inbound student exchange and outbound student exchange. CU actively promotes cultural exchange through outbound and inbound exchange programs, enriching students' experiences and shaping future leaders.
Chandigarh University is an NAAC A grade university with a QS World Ranking. This autonomous educational institution is approved by the UGC and is located in the state of Punjab, near Chandigarh. It is India's youngest university and the only private university in Punjab to receive an A rating from NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). CU offers over 109 undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, management, pharmacy, law, architecture, journalism, animation, hotel management, commerce, and other fields.
