NEET PG 2023: SC rejects petitions seeking to postpone exam

New Delhi, February 27: The Supreme Court denied a petition to postpone NEET PG 2023 on Monday.

The petitions seeking a postponement of the NEET PG 2023 were denied by a bench of justices S Ravindra Bhat and Dipankar Datta. The court was hearing petitions to postpone the NEET-PG 2023 exam, which is scheduled for March 5, 2023.

Several candidates who have filed a petition to postpone the exam have complained that they are getting less time to prepare for exams because their internships are still ongoing.

The dates, according to Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, were announced six months ago.

According to the National Board of Examinations (NBE), the schedule was announced on the NBEMS website on September 16, 2022. The exam will be held in 277 cities at 902 test centres across the country.

The Centre also informed the court that 2,09,029 people had applied for the exam.

The majority of candidates would have already planned their travel to test cities for March 5, 2023. The government maintained that any postponement at this stage would cause inconvenience to all such candidates by causing them to cancel their travel plans.

According to the government, preparation for the exam is well underway.
