Kapil Sibal quits Congress, files RS nomination with SP's support

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former union minister Kapil Sibal Wednesday said he has resigned from the Congress party and filed a nomination for Rajya Sabha elections in the presence of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and party MP Ram Gopal Yadav. He said he quit the party on May 16. Also Read | Punjab makes Punjabi eligibility test a must for Group C, D posts “I had tendered my resignation from the Congress party on 16th May,” Sibal said after filing a nomination for Rajya Sabha elections with the support of SP. “I filed the nomination as an independent candidate. I am thankful to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav that he supported me.
