Ladda toll plaza closure: Ex-Congress MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy flays Bhagwant Mann for taking ‘undue credit’
Sangrur, September 5: Coming down heavily on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for claiming "undue credit" , former Congress Dhuri MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy on Monday alleged that he had been fighting battle against the closure of the Ladda toll plaza for the past years. He alleged that it was unfortunate that the Punjab CM had been counting this as his "personal achievement".

“Why didn’t he raise his voice against the toll plaza before? After all, Bhagwant Mann was elected twice from the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat, back then he did not raise his voice against it. Now that the toll contract was bound to expire, he came forward to claim the credit. He did not mention anything about my struggle. A case is going on against me in the Sangrur Sessions court over the toll plaza issue. The toll plaza authorities have also filed cases against me," said former MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy, while addressing the media on Monday.
Earlier in 2018, then Congress MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy had got a side lane constructed on his personal expenses so that locals could avoid the toll road. However, Goldy was booked in seven cases.
Reportedly, the 1.75-km road was constructed at a cost of around Rs 20 lakh. The road connects Ladda village and Benra village. Besides, an alternative road was opened for commuters travelling on the Delhi-Amritsar national highway.
