3-day job: Woman's brave escape from toxic workplace garners sympathy and support on Reddit
PTC News Desk: Starting a new job can be exciting yet overwhelming. A woman recently shared her harrowing experience on Twitter, explaining why she quit her new job within just three days of joining. She sought validation from Reddit users, questioning if her decision was justified or an overreaction.
The woman recounted distressing incidents with her boss, who scolded her for not completing work that was never assigned to her. He also criticised her for not staying back to finish work she didn't know about and accused her of being slow. Moreover, the boss reprimanded her for spending more than 10 minutes in the bathroom and not disclosing her past mental health issues.
When the woman revealed that she had previously been on antidepressants but stopped taking them over six months ago, the boss argued that she should have disclosed this during the interview.

Feeling cornered and unsupported, the woman stood her ground and explained her situation. Instead of showing understanding, her boss accused her of being argumentative and gave her until the next day to decide if she could work there. Defiant, she chose to resign immediately.
Reddit users empathized with her, expressing support for her decision to leave the toxic workplace. Some even suggested that she might have legal grounds to challenge her employer's inappropriate questions about her health during the interview.
Users applauded her decision, emphasizing that being berated for work performance within the first few days of joining is a warning sign of an unhealthy work environment. They encouraged her to seek a better job opportunity that values her well-being and respects her as an employee.
