New Update
Rajya Sabha on Wednesday have passed the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill 2019. Earlier, the Lok Sabha passed the bill on Tuesday for radical reforms in transport sector. Previously the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) bill was proposed in 2017, but wasn't passed in Rajya Sabha and hence lapsed with the dissolution of the 16th Lok Sabha. The bill was tabled by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari in Rajya Sabha. No doubt, the bill seeks to enforce some strict decisions over the penalities for road traffic violations.
