Mumbai Dongri building collapse: Death toll rises to 14, PM Narendra Modi shares condolence

Mumbai Dongri building collapse: A four-storey building has collapsed in Dongri area, where many are feared trapped, here on Tuesday. Meanwhile, fire tenders have rushed to the site. At least fourteen people have died, while the rescue operation is still underway. Also, a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has rushed to the building collapse site in Dongri. Meanwhile, BMC Disaster Management Cell said that Kesarbai building has collapsed at Tandel street, in Dongri, Mumbai, in which more than 40 people are feared trapped.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern over the Mumbai Building Collapse in Dongri. He said, "Collapse of a building in Mumbai’s Dongri is anguishing. My condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I hope the injured recover soon. Maharashtra Government, NDRF and local authorities are working on rescue operations & assisting those in need."

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Dongri building collapse sais, "As per the initial information I have received, around 15 families are feared trapped in the collapse. The building is around 100 yrs old. The entire focus is on rescuing the people trapped. Investigation will be done."

Mumbai rains have already given a lot of dent to the city and now one more. Earlier, Malad Wall Collapse took a lot of lives and now the Dongri Building collapse. Liekwise, there were some incidents of kids falling into drain due to heavy rainfall.

The search and rescue operation is underway at Dongri building collapse site. More details awaited.
