My sympathy is 101 percent with farmers: Captain Amarinder Singh

Farm Laws 2020: Amid continuous deadlock between the farmers and Centre, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said that farmers have every right to protest. During an interview with the news agency ANI, Captain Amarinder Singh said that "the whole farmer community of the country was asking for something and the govt remained unresponsive." "It is the duty of the government to respond to people of the country, Captain said, adding that "I feel that farmers have made their stand very clear that the laws should be repealed." "Farmers have every right to protest," he emphasized. The Chief Minister further said that "My sympathy is 101 percent with the farmers, there are old men and women sitting and protesting at the borders (Delhi border). Farm Laws 2020: Amid continuous deadlock between farmers and Centre, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said farmers have right to protest. Also, he said that the solution has to be found at the level of Prime Minister. PM must sit with his ministers and Home Minister and come to a solution, he said, adding that it has to be found by the PM finally. "No law has that sanctity which can't be touched. For instance, the constitution has been amended over 100 times since it was introduced in 1950. So why is it that this law can't be amended and you just have to withdraw it?" He also said that "If farmers are saying to withdraw the laws, you can withdraw laws and can talk to farmer's committees to bring whatever laws you want later on. But to bring peace to the state and bring farmers home, repeal the farm laws 2020 as they are demanding it." Furthermore, he said that "Maintaining the law and order in the state is my duty and I will not allow any mess. I have seen Operation Blue Star, time of terrorism, assassination of CM.
