My wife and son will not contest Lok Sabha election: Manpreet Badal
Responding to rumours, Punjab Finance Minister and Indian National Congress (INC) senior leader Manpreet Badal on Thursday announced that his wife Veenu Badal and Son Arjan badal will not contest Lok Sabha Elections. Presently, Manpreet Badal is sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bathinda (Urban).

Presently, Manpreet Badal is sitting Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bathinda (Urban).

During the last Lok Sabha polls in 2014, Manpreet Badal had contested from Bathinda against Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on the ticket of Congress. However, he lost the election by a margin of 19,000 votes.

Manpreet Badal was the Finance Minister in Shiromani Akali Dal government from 2007 to 2010 before he left SAD to form his own party, People’s Party of Punjab (PPP). After humiliating defeat in 2012 assembly elections, Manpreet Badal joined Congress in 2016.
