‘If India targets Bangladesh…’: Pakistan leader issues war threat
PTC Web Desk: A youth wing leader of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s party, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), has issued a warning to India, claiming that Pakistan would respond militarily if Bangladesh were attacked.
Speaking in a video message on Tuesday, PML leader Kamran Saeed Usmani said any attack on Bangladesh’s sovereignty would trigger a response from Pakistan’s armed forces and missile systems. He claimed that Pakistan would not tolerate what he described as India’s attempt to impose its “Akhand Bharat ideology” on Bangladesh.
Usmani alleged that Bangladesh was being pushed under India’s ideological influence and warned that even an attempt to undermine its autonomy would invite a strong reaction from Pakistan. He further claimed that Pakistan had earlier placed India in a difficult strategic position and could do so again if required.
In his remarks, Usmani also outlined a hypothetical military scenario, suggesting coordinated pressure on India from multiple directions. He claimed Pakistan could act from the west, Bangladesh from the east, while China remained focused on regions such as Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
In a separate video, Usmani went further by calling for a formal military alliance between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He accused India’s Border Security Force (BSF) of creating instability in Bangladesh and alleged that India aimed to weaken the country under the banner of the Akhand Bharat concept to establish a Hindu state.
Usmani proposed that both countries allow each other to establish military bases on their territories. According to him, such cooperation would enhance regional strategic control and could connect the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with ports in Bangladesh.
Claiming that control over ports and sea routes determines global power, Usmani argued that a Pakistan-Bangladesh military partnership would significantly shift the balance of power in South Asia.
