25 injured as Punjab-bound bus overturns in Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand, June 19: A bus carrying around 50 pilgrims from Punjab overturned in Uttarakhand's Champawat district, police said on Monday. At least 25 pilgrims have been injured, according to information.
The accident took place on NH-9 near Dhaun on Sunday night when the bus was returning from the Reetha Sahib Gurudwara. The bus was on its way to the Ropar district in Punjab. Following the accident, local police and the State Disaster Response Force rushed to carry out a relief and rescue operation.
According to the police, seven of the injured are in critical condition and have been referred to the Haldwani district hospital.
