3-year-old boy falls into 40-feet borewell in Bihar, rescue efforts underway

Nalanda (Bihar), July 23: A three-year-old boy fell into a 40-foot deep borewell while playing. The incident took place in Kul village in Bihar's Nalanda. The child has been identified as Shivam Kumar.

According to the report, a farmer dug the borewell but failed to close it, resulting in tragic incident. After the children who were playing with Shivam alerted his parents, the rescue operation began. Nalin Maurya, Vice President of Nagar Panchayat Nalanda, is assisting with the rescue operation. "This borewell was made by the farmer here for boring. But boring didn't work here, so they moved on to another location, and this borewell remained still open," he said.


"We received information that a child fell into a borewell...We are trying our best to rescue the child. NDRF & rescue team will be reaching the spot. The child is still alive, we can hear his voice...," Silwa, Circle Officer, Shambhu Mandal stated.

JCB machines were dispatched to provide oxygen and retrieve the child from the bore.

Dinesh Kumar Singh, the in-charge of the police station, stated that efforts are being made to get the child out safely. The incident has also been reported to the top officer. Many Parsottam officials arrived at the scene after learning about the tragic event.
