Bengaluru: Woman assaulted by Rapido driver over objecting to rash driving; video sparks outrage
PTC News Desk: A woman was allegedly assaulted by a Rapido bike taxi driver near a footwear showroom in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar locality after the woman objected to driver's rash driving.
According to the police sources, the confrontation turned into a heated argument after which the driver allegedly physically assaulted the woman. While the victim was initially hesitant to approach authorities, police said she was eventually persuaded to file a complaint.

The video probably recorded by a passerby shows the Rapido driver slapping the woman with such force that she falls to the ground. The video further shows several bystanders surrounding them, watching the scene unfold.
The police has launched investigation into the matter.
Initially the police had filed an NCR (Non-Cognizable Report) in the case. Soon after the video began circulating on social media, officials said thay are considering converting the NCR into FIR.
