Delhi's BJP government starts withdrawing cases against LG VK Saxena filed during AAP regime
PTC News Desk: The new BJP-led government in Delhi has reportedly started withdrawing cases against Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena who represents the Centre. The cases were filed by the previous AAP government during its regime.
Some of the cases filed against LG were related to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) chairman, funding for the Delhi Jal Board, appointment of lawyers in Delhi riots cases, teacher training in foreign countries and the high-level committee on Yamuna pollution.
During the AAP's tenure in power, the Delhi government often locked horns with successive Lieutenant Governors—Najeeb Jung, Anil Baijal, and VK Saxena—over various issues, many of which ended up in court. The AAP government, first under Arvind Kejriwal and later Aatishi, accused the Lieutenant Governor of deliberately obstructing its policy implementation. Meanwhile, the LGs alleged that AAP was unwilling to cooperate with them.
