'Empowerment of new middle class': PM Modi addresses nation after Union Budget 2024 announcement
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024, saying "This budget is for the empowerment of the new middle class."
"In the last ten years, 25 crore people have come out from poverty. This budget aims to strengthen the new middle class. This budget will provide infinite opportunities for the youth. It will bring education and skills to a new level. This budget will empower the new middle class."
"This budget will benefit women, small businessmen, and MSMEs," the Prime Minister stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi added that this budget will strengthen all sections of society. This budget focuses on manufacturing as well as infrastructure, which will accelerate growth.
"Together, we will make India a global manufacturing hub. This budget includes announcements to expand the export and manufacturing sectors to every district...This budget will create new opportunities for startups and the space economy."
Furthermore, the PM said, "Today, Defence exports are at a record high. Many provisions have been made in this Budget to make the defence sector self-reliant. Focus also laid on the tourism sector in this Budget...A decision has also been taken on the reduction of tax and TDS rules are also simplified...We are speeding development in the eastern region by the way of construction of highways and water and power projects..."
