PTC News Desk: Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher asked the Punjab government to register a murder case against those responsible for the death of a youth due to Haryana Police action at Khanauri on the Sangrur-Jind border.

Notably, 21-year-old Shubhkaran Singh of Bathinda was killed amid police action at Khanauri border.

Pandher stated that the Punjab government should take action against Haryana personnel who allegedly damaged 25-30 tractor-trolleys after invading the state's jurisdiction.

On Wednesday, violence near Khanauri killed a farmer and injured 12 Haryana Police officers. The incident occurred when protesters attempted to approach the barricades set up to restrict their entry into Haryana as part of their Delhi Chalo march.

Speaking to media in Patiala, Pandher accused Haryana security officers of entering Punjab territory and employing force on protesters at the Khanauri border post. "We want the Punjab government to register a case under Section 302 (murder of the IPC)," Pandher went on to say.

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal urged that the Punjab government declare Shubhkaran a martyr.

Dallewal also urged that the Punjab government investigate allegations that Haryana security personnel damaged 25-30 tractor-trolleys in Punjab territory.
