Gangster Vinod Panu shot dead outside court complex in Haryana's Hisar
PTC News Desk: Gangster Vinod Panu, alias Kana, was shot dead in a firing incident outside a court in Hisar, Haryana, where he had arrived for a hearing. bike-borne attackers allegedly opened fire at him in front of the court gate.
According to police, the attackers fired around 10 bullets at Kana and then fired two shots in the air before fleeing. He was facing 31 criminal cases, including murder, and was considered one of Hisar’s most wanted criminals.
Kana was accused of killing the nephew of the personal assistant of MLA Savitri Jindal.
Gangster had come to court for a hearing
Vinod Panu, alias Kana, had come to the Hisar court for a hearing when the attack took place. As he came out of the court gate at around 2 pm, two attackers on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at him.
Arrested by CIA in Jhajjar in 2017
Police said Kana had a criminal presence across Delhi-NCR and several other areas. He was arrested by a CIA team from the Bhadawas area of Jhajjar in 2017, along with seven of his associates.
At the time, a reward of Rs 7 lakh had been announced for his arrest. Police had said that Kana and his associates were travelling in a Fortuner, an EcoSport and an i20 when they were caught. They were allegedly planning to kill Pradeep Solanki, a member of the Manjeet gang.
Police had recovered several weapons from them, including revolvers, a carbine, 12-bore guns, pistols and a large number of cartridges.
