Haryana: Congress leader and Hisar mayoral candidate Chhattarpal Soni dies of heart attack during protest
PTC Web Desk: Chhattarpal Soni, a Congress leader and a contender for the Mayor's post in Hisar, died on Friday due to a heart attack. He was attending a protest at Surewala Chowk in Uklana with the family of Gudia, a missing 16-year-old girl. Suddenly, he experienced severe chest pain and left the protest to rest in his car.
Chhattarpal Soni was taken to a hospital in Hisar, where doctors declared him dead. Following the news of his demise, Congress members gathered at the hospital. His mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Sector-33 for final respects, after which the last rites will be performed.
Soni was supporting the family of Sunil Kumar from Geeta Colony, Hisar, whose 16-year-old daughter has been missing since September 29. The family alleged police inaction and were protesting against the authorities. On Friday, they were on their way to Chandigarh to meet Chief Minister Naib Saini when the police tried to stop them in Uklana.
Upon receiving the information, Chhattarpal Soni, along with other Congress leaders, reached Uklana to support the family. While accompanying the girl's father during the protest, Soni suddenly felt chest pain and sat in his car, where his condition deteriorated.
