Haryana YouTuber amongst six accused arrested for spying for Pakistan
PTC News Desk: In significant development, six Indian nationals including a popular Youtuber based out of Haryana was arrested for allegedly passing confidential information to Pakistani agencies. The network spanned across Haryana and Punjab, with key operatives disguised as agents, financial conduits, and informants.
The Haryana based YouTuber identified as Jyoti Malhotra ran the YouTube channel "Travel with Jo". The authorities have said that she visited Pakistan in 2023 after acquiring visa from commission agents. During her trip, she developed close ties with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a staff member at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
Jyoti has been charged under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. The case been handed over to the Economic Offences Wing, Hisar.
