J&K Police release sketches of 4 terrorists, Rs 5 lakh cash reward announced
PTC News Desk: Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches of four terrorists and have announced a cash award of Rs 20 lakhs for credible information. The terrorists were seen in 'dhoks' (mud houses) in the higher reaches of the Kathua district.
On July 8, terrorists ambushed an army patrol in the isolated forest region of Machedi, killing five soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer.
Despite a large search operation, terrorists linked with the Kashmir Tigers, a shadow organisation of Pakistan's Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit, who recently infiltrated the nation are still untraceable.
Police posted sketches of four terrorists last spotted in 'dhoks' of Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar forests in the district's upper reaches on X.
“…A reward of 5 lakhs on each terrorist for actionable information. Anyone with credible information of terrorists will also be suitably rewarded,” Kathua police said.
The ambush in Kathua was followed by another attack by a separate group of terrorists in Desa forest on July 15. Four army personnel including a captain were killed in the attack.
Police in Doda district have posted sketches and a monetary reward of Rs 5 lakh each for four terrorists engaged in the attack. They are still being searched.
