Karni Sena chief murder: Punjab Police 'had warned' Rajasthan counterparts of threat to Sukhdev Gogamedi's life
PTC Web Desk: The recent murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a prominent Rajput leader in Jaipur, has sparked widespread protests in Rajasthan. Intelligence inputs suggested that Gogamedi was under threat, with warnings from the Punjab Police to their counterparts in Rajasthan about potential dangers to him.
Additionally, the Rajasthan Police's anti-terrorist squad had also flagged a threat to the Rajput leader.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, who led fringe outfit Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, had reportedly requested police security, which was not provided. Tragically, he was fatally shot in his Jaipur home by three men who had a meeting with him. The murder was captured on CCTV.

During the attack, Gogamedi and two associates sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to a hospital, where Gogamedi was declared dead. One of the attackers was also shot dead by Gogamedi's aides during the confrontation, according to police reports.
A gangster named Rohit Godara, affiliated with Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi's gangs, claimed responsibility for the murder through a Facebook post.
This assassination draws comparisons to the killing of Raju Teth, another gangster shot dead last year in Rajasthan's Sikar district.
Suspicions point towards hired sharpshooters, identified as Rohit Singh Rathore from Nagaur, Rajasthan, and Nitin Fauji from Narnaul, Haryana, as being involved in the murder.
The incident has led to widespread protests across various districts, prompting Rajput organisations to call for a statewide bandh. The Rajasthan Police have deployed eight special teams to apprehend the suspected shooters. Police Chief Umesh Mishra assured the public of efforts to swiftly arrest the suspects and appealed for calm and peace during this time.
"We are working diligently to apprehend the suspects at the earliest. I urge everyone to maintain peace and exhibit patience," Mishra stated.
