Kisan Andolan 2.0. | 'Delhi Chalo' march on hold till Feb 29; what’s farmers next move? Know full schedule

Kisan Andolan 2.0. | The protesting farmers have been camping at the Shambhu border near Ambala since the start of the protest. Several farmers and police personnel were injured in the clashes during the March that started on February 13. 

As farmers march towards Delhi, they have been encountered by tear gas and water cannons at the Punjab-Haryana border by the Haryana Police. 


The ‘Delhi Chalo’ march or ‘Kisan Andolan 2.0.’ is organised by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and other groups.

The SKM and KMM are pressing for various demands, including assurances on Minimum Support Price (MSP), pension provisions, stability in electricity tariffs, and justice for victims of violence. Despite ongoing negotiations, thousands of farmers persist in their protest at the border, urging authorities to address their concerns.

What is farmers’ move till Feb 29? Know full schedule

Despite the pause of the 'Delhi Chalo' march till February 29, farmers will continue to maintain their presence at the two borders. According to farmer leaders Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Sarwan Singh Pandher, the series of programs have been scheduled: 

February 24: Candlelight march across Nation in memory of "martyrs" Shubhakaran Singh and three other farmers who lost their lives during the protests

February 25: A conference on the World Trade Organization (WTO) will take place at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders to raise awareness among farmers nationwide.

February 26: Effigies of the WTO, corporate houses and governments will be burned in the afternoon at both borders

February 27: Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, SKM (non-political) will hold a meeting of all its leaders from across the country

February 28: A joint meeting of both forums is scheduled

February 29: An announcement regarding the continuation of the farmers' protest will be decided. 

The farmers have been camping at the border points since February 13 along with their tractor-trolleys, mini-vans and pickup trucks
