Kolkata sexual assault: CCTV shows victim being dragged, confirms allegations, say cops
PTC News Desk: CCTV footage from South Calcutta Law College has corroborated the allegations made by a first-year student in her rape complaint, according to police.
The video, which also captures events leading up to the June 25 incident, shows the victim being forcibly taken into the guard’s room. “The footage supports the survivor’s claims. It clearly shows the movements of the three accused, the security guard, and the victim. We are currently analyzing it further,” police officials told PTI on Saturday.
Investigators have also collected several pieces of evidence from the students' union room, the washroom, and the guard’s room — including strands of hair, bottles with unidentified liquids, and a hockey stick — all of which support the survivor’s statement.
“There are evident signs of a struggle in all three locations. The collected samples have been sent for forensic analysis,” an officer said.
