Maharashtra shocker: Man beats daughter to death in for scoring low marks in mock test
PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident, a man in Maharashtra's Sangli ditrict killed her daughter after she scored low marks in NEET mock test.
The deceased has been identified as Sadhna Bhonsle who was preparing for pre-medical test, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET, and was taking mock tests for it. She scored low marks in her practice tests, which angered her father, Dhondiram Bhonsle, a school teacher.
In a fit of rage, he repeatedly struck the 17-year-old Class 12 student with a stick, causing severe injuries. She was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
The father, who allegedly admitted to assaulting his daughter, has been taken into custody.
Sadhana Bhonsle sustained serious head injuries during the attack. Though she was immediately rushed to Ushakal Hospital in Sangli, she passed away before receiving medical treatment.
"The girl's mother had filed a complaint at the police station on June 22, stating that her husband had beaten her up due to low marks, resulting in her death at the hospital. The accused father has been arrested and is in police custody till June 24. The case is under investigation," said police.
