Kharge gets Z plus security: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge got Z plus security cover. The development comes after a threat perception report from Central intelligence agencies.
CRPF will provide the Congress leader with the security cover.
Z plus security is the highest level of protection provided by the government to an individual who is facing a serious threat to their life, following SPG cover. This security blanket includes 55 personnel, as well as CRPF commandos who guard the individual 24 hours a day. This cover includes a bulletproof vehicle and three shifts of escorts.
VIP security is divided into four categories: Z plus, Z, Y, and X, based on the Intelligence Bureau's threat perception analysis.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also has Z plus protection.
Until 2019, the Gandhis had SPG security coverage, which was downgraded to Z Plus.
