PTC News Desk: As Uttar Pradesh batters with severe weather conditions that claimed around 100 lives, a horrifying video is doing rounds on social media. The video allegedly shows a man being swept into the air along with a tin shed during a powerful storm.

The incident is said to have taken place in Bamiyana village under the Bhamora police station area of Bareilly district. The video has drawn significant traction and triggered a storm of reactions.

The powerful storm uprooted trees, caused walls and electric poles to collapse in several districts. The authorities said that over 80 lives have been lost across Uttar Pradesh in multiple weather-related incidents.

The administration has launched relief and rescue operations on a war footing, while injured persons have been admitted to hospitals.

Taking cognizance of the situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the authorities to ensure adequate compensation to the victims within 24 hours. He also instructed District Magistrates to remain on the ground and personally supervise relief operations in affected areas.

The worst-hit district was Prayagraj, where 16 people lost their lives. Bhadohi reported 15 deaths, while Mirzapur recorded 10. Nine people died in Fatehpur, two in Hardoi, and one each in Kanpur Dehat and Kaushambi.

In Prayagraj, strong winds and a severe dust storm caused major destruction. Officials said seven deaths were reported in Handia, four in Phulpur, three in Soraon, and two in Meja. These areas suffered heavy damage as strong winds uprooted large trees and blocked roads, badly affecting traffic movement.

Power supply was disrupted in several parts of Prayagraj after trees and debris damaged electricity lines. Municipal teams were sent to clear roads and restore normal traffic movement.
