Nitish Kumar poised for swearing-in tomorrow amidst anticipated Bihar political shake-up

PTC News Desk: As Bihar anticipates a potential shake-up, Nitish Kumar is set to be sworn in as Chief Minister for the record ninth time, aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), according to BJP sources. The unfolding political drama includes extensive transfers of officers, fueling speculations of an imminent change in government and a reshuffling of the current 'Mahagathbandhan' ruling coalition.

The BJP, convening a meeting to strategise for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, downplayed renewed alliance speculations but hinted at ongoing discussions with Nitish Kumar. Reports suggest Nitish Kumar has called a legislative party session tomorrow, coinciding with large-scale relocations of district magistrates in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar's solo appearance at the Republic Day tea without his deputy Tejashwi Yadav hinted at discord within the Janata Dal (United) and the RJD. Meanwhile, Congress, Nitish Kumar's INDIA bloc partner, called a meeting in Purnea, focused on preparations for Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' entering Bihar on Monday.

While the immediate focus is on the Lok Sabha Elections, sources indicate the Bihar Assembly won't be dissolved yet. Both the BJP and JD(U) are solidifying strategies, setting the stage for a comprehensive realignment in Bihar's political landscape.

Nitish Kumar's return to the BJP-led NDA involves intricate plans, including an Assembly Speaker nomination and cabinet reshuffle. Sushil Kumar Modi's cryptic statement, "No door is closed in politics," adds suspense, and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi and his party are key players in potential alliances.

Nitish Kumar's political journey, once stable, has transformed into a tale of realignments, from 'Sushashan Babu' to the enigmatic "Paltu Kumar," reflecting Bihar's evolving political dynamics.
