PTC Web Desk:  A shocking incident at a daycare in a Noida residential complex has left residents horrified after a 15-month-old baby girl was allegedly assaulted by a woman attendant. The parents, who found bite marks on their daughter's thighs, later discovered through CCTV footage that the attendant had hit the child on her face and intentionally dropped her to the floor.

The disturbing case emerged from a daycare facility located in the Paras Tierea residential complex, Sector 137, Noida. Operated by the residents’ association, the centre caters to working parents in the Delhi-NCR region. Following the incident, fear and outrage have spread across the community.

The baby’s father, Sandeep, said they first noticed the marks on August 4. Initially mistaking them for an allergic reaction, the parents consulted teachers at the daycare, who also expressed concern. A doctor later confirmed the marks were from bites. Alarmed, the couple requested CCTV footage from the daycare authorities. The video revealed the attendant striking the infant and dropping her deliberately, leaving her in tears.

An FIR was promptly registered at Sector 142 police station after the parents lodged a formal complaint. They have accused both the attendant and the daycare owner of verbally abusing and threatening them when confronted. The parents also alleged that the daycare owner failed to intervene during the assaults.

The police confirmed that the child has undergone a medical examination and that the attendant has been detained. Further investigations are underway, including scrutiny of the daycare’s operational licence and hiring practices. The authorities are probing how a minor was employed for a role requiring care and patience with infants.

Sandeep revealed that the family had been sending their daughter to the daycare since May 21, for two hours a day at a fee of Rs 2,500. They were assured that three teachers would look after her, but later found she was left in the attendant’s care. Another family in the complex has reportedly come forward with a similar complaint and is preparing to file a case.

“This has been an extremely traumatic time for us. I could not go to work and my wife has been unable to sleep. We want strict action against both the owner and the attendant so that no other child has to suffer this,” Sandeep said.

The daycare is run by a woman named Charu, and the police have indicated they may take legal action if irregularities in licensing or staffing are found.
