Noida man arrested for death threats to Salman Khan, Zeeshan Siddiqui weeks after Baba Siddique's murder
PTC Web Desk: A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Noida for issuing death threats to actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, an MLA and the son of NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on October 12. The Mumbai Police took Gufran Khan into custody and placed him on a transit remand.
According to police sources, Zeeshan Siddiqui’s Bandra office received threatening messages on Friday evening, demanding ransom and warning that both Salman Khan and the MLA would be killed if the demands weren’t met. A staff member from Siddiqui’s office filed a police complaint, and an FIR was registered. Investigations led to the identification and arrest of Mohammed Tayyab as the person behind the threats.
In a related case, the Mumbai Police had earlier arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur, for sending a threatening message to the Mumbai traffic police's WhatsApp helpline, demanding Rs 5 crore in ransom. Salman Khan has faced multiple threats before, including from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which allegedly fired shots outside his Bandra residence in April, prompting heightened security measures for the actor.
Earlier this month, former MLA Baba Siddique, a close associate of Salman Khan, was murdered near his son Zeeshan's office in Mumbai. The threats to Zeeshan came just weeks after his father's assassination.
