PTC Web Desk: In one of the deadliest terror incidents in recent years, at least 26 persons, including two foreign nationals, were feared dead after terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday afternoon. The attack occurred around 2.30 pm, sending shockwaves through the scenic hill town known for its peace and hospitality.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of heavily armed militants dressed in military fatigues infiltrated the Baisaran meadow — often dubbed ‘mini Switzerland’ — and indiscriminately opened fire on tourists enjoying picnics, pony rides, and meals at nearby eateries. The location, roughly 5 km from the main Pahalgam town and accessible only on foot or by pony, turned into a war zone within moments.
