Pakistan extends airspace ban on Indian aircraft till September 23 amid ongoing tensions

PTC Web Desk: Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace until September 23, the Pakistan Airports Authority confirmed on Wednesday. A fresh NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued, notifying that all Indian-operated flights, including military and civilian aircraft owned or leased by Indian carriers, remain barred from entering Pakistani skies.

The restrictions were first imposed on April 23 following heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Initially announced for one month, the ban has since been repeatedly extended, with the latest being the third such extension.

In response, India had closed its airspace for Pakistani airlines from April 30, leading to a reciprocal tit-for-tat standoff. Both sides have maintained the airspace restrictions, which continue to disrupt flight operations and increase travel times for carriers.
