Passenger train derails in Odisha after hitting buffalo
PTC News Desk: A passenger train derailed in Odisha's Sambalpur district after hitting a buffalo on Wednesday evening, according to East Coast Railway (ECoR).
All passengers were safe, it added.
Four wheels of a coach of Jharsuguda-Sambalpur passenger special train derailed at around 6.25 pm on the Sarla-Sambalpur section when the animal unexpectedly entered the track, according to a statement from ECoR.
Due to the accident, the buffalo died.
Sambalpur's Divisional Railway Manager arrived at the scene to oversee the clearing of the blocked line with his team.
According to an official, the track was deemed suitable for train movement at a slow speed of 30 km/h at 8:35 p.m.
