PGI fire incident: Massive fire ravages at PGI's Nehru Hospital in Chandigarh, 400 patients shifted

Chandigarh PGI fire incident: In a horrific and unfortunate incident, a massive fire broke out at PGI's Nehru Hospital in Chandigarh in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the reports, the fire erupted due to short circuit in computer room.

Meanwhile, around 400 patients were evacuated and were shifted late night after fire erupted.

Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh said, "The fire broke out in the computer room which spread further. The administration of the hospital immediately responded and evacuated all the patients safely."

"Not a single patient has lost his/ her life... Chandigarh administration immediately swung into action, fire tenders reached the spot and the fire was doused," he said.

The situation is under control and investigation is underway.
