Political leaders congratulate Nation for Aditya-L1 launch

‘India continues its space journey’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO on the successful launch of Aditya -L1, India’s first space-based solar observatory.

The Prime Minister declared that India's scientific efforts will continue "to develop a better understanding of the Universe for the welfare of entire humanity."

‘Unparalleled accomplishment’

Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated ISRO scientists for the brilliant successful launch of  Aditya L1. Taking to his ‘X’ handle, Amit Shah wrote, “Time and again our scientists have proved their might and brilliance. The nation is proud and delighted over the successful launch of Aditya L1, India's first solar mission. Kudos to the team @isro for this unparalleled accomplishment.”

‘Exceptional feat’

President of India, Droupadi Murmu also took to her ‘X’ handle and wrote, “The launch of Aditya-L1, India's first solar mission, is a landmark achievement that takes India’s indigenous space programme to a new trajectory. It will help us better understand space and celestial phenomena. I congratulate the scientists and engineers at @isro for this exceptional feat. My best wishes for the success of the mission.”

‘Giant leap in space exploration’

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal also congratulated ISRO for the historic achievement and wrote,  “Congratulations to

@isro and all our Indians for the successful launch of Aditya-L1, India’s maiden solar mission. This historic achievement marks another giant leap in space exploration. This Mission carries the hopes of billions and I pray for its triumph. Jai Hind.”

The Aditya-L1 mission is expected to reach the observation point in four months. It will be placed in a halo orbit around Lagrangian Point 1 (or L1), which is 1.5 million km away from the Earth in the direction of the sun.

It will carry seven different payloads to have a detailed study of the sun, four of which will observe the light from the sun and the other three will measure in-situ parameters of the plasma and magnetic fields.

The Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC), the primary payload of Aditya L1, the first space-based Indian mission to study the Sun, which is scheduled to launch on Saturday, will send 1,440 photos each day to the ground station for analysis once it reaches its intended orbit.

Aditya-L1 represents India's inaugural solar space observatory and propelled into space by the PSLV-C57. It will transport seven distinct payloads, enabling an extensive examination of the sun. Among these instruments, four will focus on observing solar light, while the remaining three will measure in-situ parameters related to plasma and magnetic fields.

Significantly, the eagerly awaited Chandrayaan-3 mission carved a remarkable chapter in the nation's history, with the Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Lander accomplishing a successful touchdown on the Moon. This achievement positions India as the foremost country globally to achieve a spacecraft landing on the lunar South Pole.
