Pune Porsche accident: The mother of the accused teen in the Pune Porsche accident that killed two IT professionals riding a bike on the night of May 19, was arrested on Saturday, according to a police official.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed the arrest, saying, "The mother of the minor accused has been arrested in this case."

According to police, the mother swapped her blood sample to prove that her son was not drunk at the time of the accident.

Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, stated that the accident investigation revealed that the minor's blood samples were replaced with those of his mother.

While the 17-year-old minor has been sent to an observation home, his father and grandfather have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family's driver and pressuring him to accept the blame.

The investigation uncovered efforts by the influential family to conceal the crime. They initially attempted to persuade their family driver to accept the blame for the terrifying accident in exchange for money. When he denied, they kidnapped him and repeatedly forced him to confess.

There were also irregularities in the accused teen's medical examination at the state-run Sassoon Hospital, and Maharashtra Medical Education created a three-member committee to investigate the case, led by Dr Pallavi Sapale, dean of Mumbai's Grants Medical College.

Meanwhile, days after the Porsche accident, former IAS officer Arun Bhatia has written to the Chairman of the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission (MHRC) requesting that Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar be transferred from the city.

Bhatia has also asked the human rights watchdog to look into the actions of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who "represents the police force in the city".

The selection of the doctor as Chief Medical Officer based on a politician's proposal should be examined, and the Health Secretary should be punished, according to Bhatia's letter.

Bhatia has also requested a report from the police detailing the step-by-step sequence of events, as well as the reasons for delays and failures in the inquiry process, which must be produced and made public immediately."

"The present Police Commissioner cannot be relied upon to do this," he said.

The retired civil servant accused the Police Commissioner of protecting the criminals and his corrupt officers.

"To cap this scandal the court released on bail the seventeen-year-old who had emerged from a pub to take the wheel instead of placing him in a remand home", he added.
