Soldier killed, another injured in landmine blast near LoC in J&K's Nowshera

PTC News Desk: An Indian Army soldier lost his life, and another was injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM, approximately 300 meters from the Forward Defense Line (FDL) in the area of responsibility (AOR) of the 17th Sikh Light Battalion under the 80th Infantry Brigade.

The two Army personnel were engaged in routine surveillance along the LoC when the explosion took place. Following the blast, both soldiers were promptly airlifted to the command hospital in Udhampur. Unfortunately, one of the soldiers succumbed to his injuries, while the other is undergoing treatment for non-fatal wounds.


As of now, the Army has not released the deceased jawan's name or provided details about the nature and extent of the surviving soldier's injuries.
