Startling revelation in Ghaziabad triple suicide: Three sisters from two mothers, out of school for 2 years

PTC Web Desk: New details have surfaced in the disturbing case of three minor sisters who jumped to their deaths from a high-rise apartment in Ghaziabad, a tragedy now being probed for its possible links to an online task-based Korean game. Investigators have revealed that the girls’ father lives in a complex family arrangement, with two wives, who are real sisters sharing the same household.

The father, Chetan Kumar, a local trader, reportedly married his wife’s younger sister years ago after his first marriage did not result in children. Over time, both marriages produced children, hree daughters from the second wife and two from the first. The family of seven lived together under one roof.

The three girls who died, Pakhi (12), Prachi (14), and Vishika (16), belonged to both mothers. While two were born to the second wife, one was the daughter of the first wife. According to officials, the girls had stopped attending school nearly two years ago due to poor academic performance and financial stress at home.

The incident occurred around 2:15 am at a residential tower in Bharat City. The police said the sisters had locked themselves inside their room before jumping from the ninth-floor balcony, one after another. The impact was so loud that it startled residents from their sleep.

By the time family members and security staff managed to break into the locked room, it was already too late. The girls were rushed to a nearby hospital in Loni, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest the extreme step may have been triggered after their parents tried to curb the girls’ excessive mobile phone use and gaming habits.

Eight pages that told a story

The police recovered an eight-page handwritten suicide note from a pocket diary found in the room. Written in Hinglish, the note repeatedly apologised to the parents and urged them to read the diary fully, stressing that everything written inside was “the truth.” One line read: “Is diary me jo bhi likha hai, vo sab sach hai. Puri diary padhna. Sorry papa.” A crying emoji was drawn alongside the message.

Investigators also found a haunting line scribbled on the bedroom wall: “I am very, very alone. My life is very, very alone.”

The sisters were reportedly deeply influenced by Korean culture and had become engrossed in an online Korean game during the COVID-19 lockdown period. According to their father, the addiction went far beyond casual gaming. The girls had adopted Korean names for themselves and were completing tasks allegedly assigned within the game.

Prachi, the middle sister, is believed to have taken the lead role in guiding the others. The suicide note, the police said, repeatedly referenced Korea in emotional terms. “We can’t leave Korea. Korea is our life. You can’t free us,” the note reportedly mentioned.

Authorities are now examining whether the game involved manipulative or dangerous tasks that could have influenced the minors’ mental state.
