Noida: Student jumps off 22nd floor within hours of taking board exam; dies
PTC News Desk: A Class 12 student died after allegedly jumping off the 22nd floor of a building at a group housing society in Noida Extension, just hours after taking the board exam on Thursday, police said.
While the exact reason for the extreme step was unknown, the police said the student, who was around 19 years old, was unable to pass the exam last year as well.
"Around 4.20 p.m. today, local Bisrakh police station officials were informed of the student's death at the Mahagun Mywoods Society. The police team rushed to the scene, and forensic experts were also dispatched," a police spokesperson stated.
"The student's parents were also present, and they informed the police that their son had returned home after taking the English Core exam for Class 12 today. After returning home, he went to sit on the building's 22nd-floor terrace. The family informed police that he was unable to pass the Class 12 exam last year as well," the spokesperson said.
The police added that further legal proceedings were underway in the case.
